Why
It was my first visit to Tree City in Kent, OH. The town where I attended college changed a bit since I graduated, and this local coffee shop sprung up among other new developments. One of the many treats the place offered was a maple bacon cupcake.
What
Bacon slices resting on a bed of maple syrup-flavored cake. The caramel-colored frosting had a taste of maple as well. The bacon part of the cupcake didn’t seem to go much further than the topping, but I think I preferred that. The moist cake with maple-flavor seemed pretty rich, so be aware of that if you don’t have a super sweet tooth. Overall, a delicious breakfast in cupcake form.
